Basically here in a few days we will have nothing to do but stay in our rooms reading our books, watching our movies, and counting the hours down for our plane to take us back home.

There are all my guys in the S6 department, From left to right SGT Cruz, are fearless leader SSG Griffin, and SGT Richardson. The second picture down is the first known picture of SGT Cruz smiling so I’ve made sure to send the picture to his family as proof in case they never see this blog. Everyone is very happy because these are the last of our tri-cons that need to be packed up and shipped to Alaska. Since SGT Cruz was in such a good mood we took advantage of his size to pack the last of our laptops in the far corner.

I'm not sure how else to thank you, now that you've left the address I had for you, and I didn't want to leave my thanks unspoken. I hope you don't mind that I'm posting it here. I sent your troops the support I could, as I could, wishing it could be more, not expecting anything in response. To my delight, you wrote me letters, and we conversed from halfway around the world. It made your men less abstract to me - you talked about real people, real things, and I sent more packages in the hopes that these real, breathing soldiers would benefit, maybe even smile. To my astonishment, you went beyond writing letters - today, I received a flag you'd flown in Iraq and I am, quite simply, blown away by that act of kindness and generosity. I will have to buy a display case so it can be safely displayed in my home. Safely and proudly, and always with the explanation that it was flown over a base in Iraq by a very thoughtful soldier. I don't quite have words to express just how I value this gesture. I hope a simple Thank you gets my point across, at least. Really. Thank you.
